Doing what I do best over the summer

Today I started my job at Top10Reviews. I am writing consumer electronic reports. Basically, I am given a product and write a review. My area of specialty will be to write about electronics. So, I get to spend the summer doing what I love best ... writing!

This job just happened to land in my lap. It started back in March when I got a call from the head of the human resources at the company, Ryan, checking on references for one of my past writers Seth (who also is working there). Ryan told me they were looking for more writers and I asked about summer positions. Technically I am considered an intern because I am only there for the summer but I am doing all the same things as a full-time content writer, I just get the title of intern.

For the past few summers I have done things that I have hated doing or things that won't get me anywhere in life - database assistant, waitress at Ihop, car detailer and receptionist. This is finally the first summer that I am going to get paid for doing something I love doing and that will look great on my resume.

I hope this job continues to go well and it wasn't just a lucky first day. I hope I continue to love it as much as I did today. I have hopes that this company will be a great resource for when I graduate and a great reference. If I can't find a job, I would love to have this as a back up plan.
